Recommended Events from Dr. Hoffman at The Calgary C. G. Jung Society
Hello Friends and Patients,
Many patients are familiar with popular psychotherapeutic techniques like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), supportive counselling, and family and marriage therapy. These techniques assist a person to address the challenges and stresses of their day to day life, supporting their ego-based strengths and attempting to orient people to the slings and arrows of a complex life. What is not known to many is that there is a hidden domain to the psyche in the realm of the personal and collective unconscious.
This aspect of our psyche has the same objective dimensions as our outer ego strengths, weaknesses, and defences that we regularly employ to negotiate the arc of our lives. Just as there are trained psychotherapists who assist in outer world challenges, there are also psychoanalysts and psychotherapists who have trained for many years in the mysteries, myths, and imaginings of our inner domain.
The Calgary C. G. Jung Society is a group of interested individuals and psychoanalysts who regularly explore this territory in the form of regular lectures and workshops with educators and analysts working in the field. I highly recommend that you consider attending these most fascinating meetings and workshops held regularly in Calgary. Please see below and forward to anyone else who may be interested!
To your best health,
